The tar sands are the biggest environmental disaster in Canada and no one really cares because there is so much money to be made!!!! And money is all we need in this society, money to drive polluting SUVs and Hummers etc etc. Show me an oil executive and I'll show you a piece of human garbage!
Notice that nobody claims there could ever be "clean tar" the way they promise for "clean coal." It's clear that nobody would be fooled by such a blatant contradiction in terms.
