Governments and the Climate Challenge - Leadership Failure Bordering on Madness
Good work. I agree there is no place to start but where we find ourselves both through insight and accurate awareness of where we actually are. So there is nothing wrong with starting in Manitoba. After all. that is where John Bracken got his start in politics!
Larry, I think you would find Anthony Leiserowitz's most recent study quite interestng. He's from the Center for Climate Change Communication at George Mason University and was the guest speaker for last months' Citizen Climate Lobby teleconference. His most recent article focuses on "climate change in the American mind". Now I know we are Canadians, but we aren't all that different on this issue (unfortunately). Here's the link to listen to Prof Lieserowitz's 20 min talk, fyi: http://citizensclimatelobby.org/calls/CCL-September-2011.mp3
What we need right now is people right across Canada working for political change from the grassroots up. I can't say enough good things about Citizens Climate Lobby for their support and inspiration re: empowering people to exercise their political power as well as working for political change rather than climate change. I invite you to join us on an intro call the first or 3rd Wednesday of every month. It's nice to feel that you(we) are not alone!
