Environmental Report Details Extent of Contamination in the Quebec Runaway Train Disaster

There was never doubt that the deadly train derailment in Lac-Mégantic caused an environmental disaster, but a report made public this week by Quebec's ministry of the environment details the extent of the devastation to the soil, river and lake near the disaster zone. Details here.

And in the wings just off stage,in the province of Manitoba, Omintrax Canada is standing by to do a test run of delivering oil, for export, by rail to the Port of Churchill.
Another environmental disaster in the making!
Omnitrax president Merv Tweed, the former MP for the Brandon-Souris riding, said the idea of hauling oil by rail is new and it will take time for people to get used to the concept. The shipment of crude oil by rail is perfectly safe and the tracks don't require any additional upgrade.

"Perfectly Safe" ….And when the first incident takes place, What will Mr. Tweed have to say then ? "The facts were misleading. Too late Mr. Tweed, the devastation has taken place and the facts are fictitious. The misunderstanding was on your shoulders, not the public. You are willing to help destroy the environment, habitant and wildlife of a pristine area for the sake of hauling oil. That is Not Acceptable.
