This story was not written by a bona fide journalist. It was written by folks involved in "commodity marketing." I believe this explains the high degree of "spin" coming through in its content.
Besides, the final statement by the Canola big wig, “We want to make sure that guys are first and foremost doing it (applying insect-killer) with economic threshold data in mind,” is highly cynical, revealing the industry's ugly preoccupation with profit over all else.
