François Veillerette, Director of Générations Futures says thank you to SumOfUs members
Larry,
You made something amazing happen. The EU refused to give Monsanto’s cancer-causing ingredient - glyphosate - the green light. It’s delayed the decision 18 months while glyphosate is re-evaluated.
That’s a big win. Thousands of generous SumOfUs members donated to pay for a legal process which triggered an investigation into Monsanto’s dodgy and dangerous practices.
We came together with hundreds of thousands of other people and a big alliance of environmental groups across Europe to beat Monsanto on glyphosate. The generosity of members like you meant we got this result.
Here’s a special thank you from our partners:
“This is a victory that wouldn’t have been possible without your participation...many thanks again to you all who made this possible” -- Générations Futures
SumOfUs members like you have also been front, right and center in stopping the mega-merger between pharma-giant Bayer and Monsanto:
Our tactics are working, but this fight is just getting started. There is plenty of chances for us to block this merger still, and we are counting on your help. When we stand together, we are stronger than even Bayer and Monsanto.
It is members like you Larry that make our global SumOfUs community strong.
Thanks for all you do,
Nabil, Anne and the team at SumOfUs PS: SumOfUs is a community of people from around the world committed to curbing the growing power of corporations. We want to buy from, work for and invest in companies that respect the environment, treat their workers well and respect democracy. And we’re not afraid to stand up to them when they don’t. Can you please chip in to help keep SumOfUs strong? ********** More information: Letter of Générations Futures Director to SumOfUs Members, 13 December 2016 Environmental NGOs press charges against monsanto, German government institute and European Food Safety Authority, PAN Europe, 2 March 2016
